When a media friend of Sir Graham Henry called to congratulate him for his part in winning the Cannes Lions grand prix for good award last week, he thought he was pulling his leg. “I’d completely forgot about filming the ad at Ōtāhuhu College a while ago and didn’t know what he was talking about at first,” he says.
Beating a pool of more than 26,000 entries, the prize is one of the world’s most prestigious advertising awards and Graham says he’s very pleased to have said ‘yes’ to creative director and founder of advertising agency Motion Sickness, Sam Stuchbury who nervously contacted him about playing a role in the promotional video.
