The team at Waiheke’s Mudbrick Vineyard is basking in prestige, with their flagship wine taking out a top national award.
The National Wine Awards of Aotearoa is the country’s newest national wine show. It’s second annual awards ceremony was held at the Hilton Hotel in Auckland last weekend. The show may be new, but it carries on a big legacy; it was formed in an amalgamation of three of New Zealand’s most prestigious wine shows – the Air New Zealand Wine Awards, Romeo Bragato Wine Awards and the Royal Easter Show Wine Awards. More than 800 entries were judged over a three day tradeshow at the Kumeu Showgrounds in September.
