Has being on lockdown got your routines thrown, exercise depleted or feeling lonely? Island Zumba instructor Rahman Saleh says the solution is just a click away. “Get ready to dance with me,” says Rahman, who has shifted his whole timetable online. “It’s about having fun, bringing people together and connecting. You are not on lockdown – you’re unlocking yourself, bringing your energy out.” Offering classes free of charge for the lockdown period, he says that after 10 years of Zumba it’s a time to give back. “It’s good to give back to the community. I have been on Waiheke for almost 19 years and teaching Zumba for 10. No one is earning right now, it’s a giving time.” Using the online platform Zoom makes it almost like a physical class, he says. “It’s very active, very fun and it’s a meeting time, so it sets routine in the day. • Jessie Dean
