Test trials to blast caulerpa seaweed infestations under ultraviolet light will start around Waiheke as early as next week.

Ultraviolet light is among five new tools undergoing trials in the fight to eradicate the imported seaweed.

“There is an enormous amount of work being undertaken in the fight against exotic caulerpa,” says Advanced Aquarium Technologies director Craig Thorburn.
