Recreational fishers are rallying for a peaceful protest against the new Marine Protection Act, which prohibits them from fishing in protected areas of the Huraki Gulf, while still allowing access to commercial interests.
A fleet of fishers will tow their boats across to Auckland this Saturday, 22 November, to show their dissatisfaction at the new rules.
