
Every month while you’re relaxing in bed enjoying your Sunday cuppa and reading the news, a group of volunteers are hard at it with shovels and barrows keenly restoring Newton Reserve from its origins – as an old sheep farm overgrown with noxious trees and weeds – to a verdant native reserve. Their goal is to restore selected areas of the coastal cliffs, forest and wetland to a condition as close as possible to its original biodiversity, an attractive headland abounding with healthy native flora and fauna.
