Waiheke’s John Hudson says losing long form journalism and news sources was a “blow to democracy.”

In 2015 Waiheke’s John Hudson sat down with Jean-Luc Kister, the French frogman who planted the bombs that sank the Rainbow Warrior, in an exclusive interview for TVNZ’s Sunday. Last week in a meeting with staff, the network dropped their own bomb on the long-running weekly show, announcing it would air for the last time on 19 May. Coming out of the meeting, John, a veteran journalist and contributor to the programme told reporters that losing long form journalism and news sources was a “blow to democracy.”
