Ngāti Pāoa Iwi Trust has laid out key moves to implement the trust and Piritahi Marae’s long-term vision for Te Huruhi Reserve in a letter to the Waiheke Local Board this week.
Piritahi Marae already has a lease to part of the recreational reserve, and the trust has indicated for a couple of years, its wishes to enter a long-term lease on the rest with Auckland Council. Their intention is to use the land for a long-dreamed of expansion and development of the marae.
