Hayden Wilde’s epic battle for the men’s triathlon silver medal at the Paris 2024 Olympics may have inspired Waiheke High School’s Level 3 Physical Education class as they participated in a ‘super sprint triathlon as part of their practical achievement standard 3.4.
The students followed a training programme over the eight weeks leading up to last Friday’s event, which included a 400-metre swim, a 10km bike ride and a 2.5km run.
