The music collective Flamingo Pier are celebrating a decade of making people dance to the beat of top New Zealand and worldwide DJs at their annual self-titled festival.
Flamingo Pier Waiheke – a 10 Year Celebration will take place at Ahipao on Saturday 8 February and include performances by Chicago DJ and vinyl enthusiast Sadar Bahar, Amsterdam’s Kamma and London’s Make A Dance.
The collective’s DJ and founder, Luke Walker, says the island’s subtropical setting creates the perfect atmosphere and the natural landscape perfectly complements Flamingo Pier’s groovy sound.
“Every time we have played, whether as the band or DJing, it has been a highlight as it’s always been so much fun. We’ve been able to develop our sound and live performances alongside the festival. Some of our tracks are written specifically for Waiheke, like our track Jungle Groove.
