A pod of orcas having a stingray party caused a great human flap at Enclosure Bay last week, swimming either side of terrified children on a paddleboard as onlookers enjoyed the close encounter with a cetacean.
The orcas are also known as killer whales though they are a dolphin species. They may have been frightened by the experience but the children were never in danger – there has never been a recorded orca attack on humans in the wild.
