Onetangi

While the Ministry for Primary Industries says it is close to making a decision on the proposed controlled area notice for Onetangi, it was delayed this week after initial reports suggest there are some areas of the weed showing signs of ‘dieback.’ However local representatives and the Ngāti Pāoa Iwi Trust are calling for caution as the seaweed has also been detected growing in new areas around the motu.
