Times of crisis often prompt us to move forward faster than we might otherwise, as we are forced to find new ways of doing things – and that’s seen Waiheke health workers turning more and more to tech for solutions. Health care providers, from GPs and physio clinics to counsellors and care givers, have been picking up the phone and using video technology to provide consultations and care to patients. Doctors across New Zealand, including those on the island, have been adapting the way they work to ensure that all patients can receive care safely when, where and how they need it. This includes proactively ensuring the most vulnerable patients are receiving the care they need and using technology to deliver convenient care.
