Budding young sailors from the Waiheke Sea Scouts got their hands on some serious kit last week, when invited to take a tour of the island’s volunteer Coastguard vessel.
Around 20 sea scouts met Waiheke Coastguard staff at Matiatia wharf on Tuesday afternoon for a private tour around the command centre of the service’s twin-engine, 10.2-metre rigid hulled inflatable vessel. • Richard Jones
